Attack of the Titans (進撃 の 巨人, Shingeki no Kyojin ? , Lit. 's Advanced Giant ) is a shōnen manga series written and drawn by Hajime Isayama . It is pre-published in September 2009 in the magazine Shōnen Magazine Bessatsu publisher Kodansha , and twelve volumes were released in December 2013. The French version is published by Pika Edition since June 2013.
It was adapted into animated television series of twenty- five episodes between April and September 2013 by Wit Studio, Studio IG subsidiary Port , originally aired on MBS chain in Japan . The original version subtitled in French is diffused and distributed by Wakanim streaming and legal download . Adaptations of video games, light novels and spin-offs have emerged . ADO is a release in December 2013 , a second is planned for April 2014 and a live film for 2015.
The manga won the Kodansha manga in 2011, and more than twenty million copies were sold in September 2013. The series is therefore a critical and commercial success , although some criticism was expressed in some Asian countries .
